Summary

​Effective management of tarnished plant bugs in cotton requires an integrated approach based on four key factors: planting date and maturity selection; reduction of alternative hosts near field edges; early utilization of Diamond; and insecticide mixtures and rotating chemistries. Early management is critical and requires fewer insecticide applications.

About the Presenter

Tyler TowlesTyler Towles is a research and Extension entomology at Mississippi State University, his alma mater. He previously worked at the Louisiana State University (LSU) AgCenter but returned to his native Mississippi to work as an entomologist at the Delta Research and Extension Center.
