Bart Fischer is co-director of the Agricultural and Food Policy Center (AFPC) at Texas A&M University. He previously served more than 8 years on the House Committee on Agriculture as chief economist. During that time, he helped usher through the 2014 and 2018 farm bills and was involved with other major agricultural policy developments in Washington, DC. Fischer has bachelor’s degrees in agricultural economics and business administration from Oklahoma State University, a master’s degree in environmental policy from the University of Cambridge, and a doctor in agricultural economics from Texas A&M University.
