Eric P. Webster graduated from Auburn University with a BS in Agronomy and Soils in 1987, and an MS in Weed Science in 1990. In 1995, Dr. Webster completed a PhD in Weed Science from Mississippi State University. After completing his PhD, he accepted an Extension Weed Science position with the University of Arkansas, and in 1997, he accepted a position with Louisiana State University at Baton Rouge, Louisiana. Dr. Webster’s research and extension duties include statewide responsibilities in rice weed management. Dr. Webster has received several individual award, including the Rice Technical Working Group Distinguished Rice Research and Education Award in 2010 and the Weed Science Society of America Outstanding Early Career Award in 2005. Dr. Webster served as Chair of the Rice Technical Working Group in 2014. In 2018, Dr. Webster was elected Vice President of the SWSS and will sever as President in 2021. He has author or co-authored 72 refereed journal articles and over 550 abstracts, research bulletins and popular press articles. Dr. Webster has advised or co-advised 20 graduate students. Dr. Webster has investigated hundreds of herbicide drift events, and he has been involved in several legal proceedings concerning pesticide drift.
