About the Presenter

Tiffany Dowell LashmetTiffany Dowell Lashmet is an assistant professor and Extension specialist in agricultural law with the Texas A&M AgriLife Research and Extension Center in Amarillo. She focuses on legal issues affecting Texas agricultural producers and landowners, including agricultural leases, water law, landowner liability, the right to farm, and fence law. She writes the award-winning “Texas Agriculture Law Blog” and hosts the award-winning podcast “Ag Law in the Field.” Tiffany serves on the board of directors for the American Agricultural Law Association (AALA) and is part of the State Bar of Texas John Huffaker Agricultural Law Course Planning Committee. In 2019, she received the Excellence in Agricultural Law Award for Academia from the AALA, and in 2016, she was named the State Specialist of the Year for Texas Agriculture by the Texas County Agricultural Agents Association. Tiffany received a BS in agribusiness from Oklahoma State University and a law degree from the University of New Mexico.
