Blayne Reed is the extension agent–IPM for Hale, Swisher, and Floyd Counties with Texas A&M AgriLife Extension, a position he has held since 2013. Prior to working at Texas A&M AgriLife, Blayne owned and operated a private entomological and agronomic consulting business, Reed Consulting, in the same region for 13 years. In his current position, Blayne advises and consults through the Plains Pest Management scouting program, its participating growers, and his IPM unit of about 6,500 acres of cotton, corn, sorghum, wheat, alfalfa, and other hay crops in Hale, Swisher, and Floyd Counties and normally conducts around 20 locally conducted independent agriculture research trials annually. Blayne received his BS degree in agricultural services and development with double minors in entomology and agronomy from Tarleton State University and his MS in in entomology from Texas Tech.
